Hot Glass - Hot Color
July 15, 2013 - July 19, 2013

There are many beautiful colors and color applications available to glassblowers. Color theory is a bit different for glassblowers compared to painters. In addition to the basics we also have to deal with the unique working characteristics of each glass color (softness, hardness, receptivity to heat, reducing, reacting, etc.). We’ll dig into the bag of tricks to explore hot glass color applications. Overlays, powders, cane and murrini, gold and silver leaf, layering color and pattern are among the techniques you will sample. Come prepared with ideas for vesselmaking and /or sculpture. You should have completed at least one beginner level Series class in glassblowing or comparable introduction to hot glass. Sign up!
