I was born to French Acadian parents, grew up in New-Brunswick and now call Alberta home. I have a degree from Sheridan College in Ontario and after 20 years in the Montréal garment industry, transformed my extensive knowledge of textiles and started experimenting with traditional rug hooking techniques in 2003. With a growing international reputation, I receive invitations to give lectures and teach workshops throughout Canada and the US, and my work has been exhibited in numerous places throughout North America. www.rachelleleblanc.com

Have you ever wanted to design and hook a rug using a childhood memory, an old family photograph, or even an abstract landscape? Based on my personal creative process I have developed during my career as a fine craft visual artist, my goal is to introduce you to techniques and tools that will help you explore your own creative process using the medium of traditional rug hooking. We will explore how to use design elements, color planning, and hand dyeing your fabrics that will help you create exciting new works of art using the creative medium of rug hooking. Sign up!
