2025 Discovery Gallery Exhibition Proposals

Alberta Craft is calling for exhibition proposals for the 2025 line-up at the Alberta Craft Discovery Gallery in Edmonton. 

We are seeking out fully developed exhibitions with themes that highlight mastery in craftsmanship; feature new work; push the boundaries of craft; and/or celebrate the achievements of our members. Our public galleries are dedicated to showcasing work by emerging, mid-career, and established craft artists. The proposals can be for individual or group exhibitions.   
 
The Alberta Craft Discovery Gallery presents innovative and dynamic exhibitions that challenge audience perceptions and inspire the public to discover the best in contemporary fine craft. The 436 square-foot Discovery Gallery is on the main level of the Alberta Craft Gallery - Edmonton and features six exhibitions per year, some of which travel to our Calgary Gallery. Each exhibition is accompanied by an article in Alberta Craft magazine, invitations, online promotion, and a reception. CARFAC fees will be paid for the exhibition.

Eligibility:

Artists who are current Alberta residents, and hold an Alberta Craft membership are eligible to apply.

Please include in your submission:

  • up to 5 artworks for consideration. You may submit 3 images per artwork - at least 1 should depict the entire artwork, the other 2 can be descriptive details or installation images. The overall image should be in a neutral setting with a have a neutral background (i.e: blank wall, no patterned wallpaper...)
