Brenda Malkinson
Brenda Malkinson is an interdisciplinary artist living and maintaining a studio in Edmonton, Alberta. Contemporary stained glass has been Malkinson’s main form of expression for over thirty-five years. The many forms of communicating ideas continue fascinate her including woodblock printmaking. She teaches Visual Art and Design for the University of Alberta, Faculty of Extension. Her work is in numerous collections and exhibitions throughout North America.

Contemporary Flat Glass Paint

Learn methods of painting vitreous enamels on glass. Based on traditional techniques with a contemporary edge, colour can be affixed permanently to glass. Basic Wood Cut Printmaking
July 15, 2013 - July 19, 2013
Learn the simple and beautiful process of making woodblock prints using various types of wood, tools, inks, and papers. Carving, colour mixing and printing techniques will be demonstrated and experienced first-hand. Reduction printing, multiple blocks, as well as various methods of registration and printing,both by hand and by using presses will be covered. You will print with soy-based inks, learn non-toxic clean up, and create edition images of your own design: in black and white and printed with two or more colours.
