Make it Happen Documentary
As you may know already, my partner and I are working on a documentary called Make It Happen which is about people who have quit their day jobs to pursue their dreams of selling what they make. So far it's been an incredible experience, and the stories of what they have overcome and are achieving is so inspiring! I really feel that more people need to hear the message that you can do what you love and not settle for a career that you are not passionate about. We are all born creative and it's time to nurture this amazing gift instead of ignoring it!
To make this documentary possible, we have launched an Indiegogo fundraising campaign where people can contribute and in return pre-order the documentary as well as receive some great handmade perks. Right now we are about halfway to our goal and have just under a week left. So far we have raised over $7,500 and the handmade community has been super supportive (including many of you!). We are bursting with gratitude.
History shows that Indiegogo/Kickstarter campaigns are most effective when they have broad community support, and most people contribute close to the deadline when the call to action is strongest.
This is why I am reaching out to you for you help today. With just a few days left, your support of the Indiegogo campaign both directly and through blogs, Facebook, Twitter, email and other community based media will make a huge difference in helping us produce and share the important message that creative careers are possible. Our hope is that this documentary will inspire people to live happier more fulfilled lives and help grow the handmade community.
