About your instructor:
Larisa Sova is a felt maker from Alberta. She moved to Canada in 2003 from Ukraine . Five years ago, her life changed when she was introduced to felt making. She endeavors to create well-made felt work that will stand the test of time. She is attracted to this soft material because of its impact on the senses and it is a cruelty free material. Working as an environmental technologist doing fieldwork, sometimes in cold environments, she was looking for better and warmer clothes that were also eco-friendly. She started with knitting items and eventually changed to felting. She found that felts have some awesome properties: Excellent sound and thermal insulation, waterproof, naturally flame resistant, maintaining the body’s natural temperature. Wool felt is a gift of nature – 100% natural and 100% FUN! Thank you, sheep! They give us unique quality of clothing! Larisa wants more people to fall in love with wool as she did, and she wants to introduce it to the public.
