  • Elliston Dog Park East Parking 2402 68 Street Southeast Calgary, AB, T2B 2N4 Canada (map)

Join Gavin McKinnon of Meadowlark Birding Tours for a fascinating tour of Elliston Park in Calgary. Gavin will teach us about spotting, identify, observing birds.

On the east side of Calgary, the 68th street wetlands host numerous migratory birds. Expect to see ducks, shorebirds, gulls and many more. Join our casual walk through the park with a fascinating guide and his spotting scope.

This tour is for all experience levels and will be of particular interest to those applying to the Albirda Call for Entry.

Be sure to bring binoculars and cameras to catch all the details as we explore this wetland.

Your guide, Gavin McKinnon started birding after a family holiday to Point Pelee National Park at the age of seven. After this first taste, he was hooked and has been birding non-stop ever since. He has traveled extensively in Canada in search of birds as well as venturing to multiple locations throughout the United States, Panama, Ecuador and Spain. He is a volunteer eBird reviewer and hotspot editor for eight regions in southern Alberta.
