Edmonton Bird Walk with Erin and Vicki of Wild Birds Unlimited

  • Lois Hole Centennial Provincial Park (map)

Join Erin Dykstra and Vicki Trombley of Wild Birds Unlimited for an exploratory Fall birdwatching walk.

In this walking tour inspired by our exhibition Albirda, Erin Dykstra and Vicki Trombley of Wild Birds Unlimited will once again take you on a bird watching tour through the Lois Hole Centennial Provincial Park, located along the western edge of St. Albert and Edmonton. The Park is recognized as a globally significant important bird area for its abundant and diverse bird populations, especially waterfowl and shorebirds.

The walk will last 1 to ½ hours. Please dress appropriately and be sure to bring your own (or borrow!) binoculars to catch all the details as we explore the park and its marsh bird population. There will be a limited number of binoculars available for use if you do not have access to a pair yourself. Please note the Park has accessible boardwalks and washrooms.

This event is suitable for ages 10 years and up.

About your guide: Erin Dykstra, along with her husband Jordan, are owners of the Wild Birds Unlimited store in Edmonton, Alberta.  They serve their community by developing, nurturing and sharing in the enjoyment of nature, native birds, and wildlife. Whether leading bird walks, speaking about birds, or helping someone find the perfect bird feeder for their yard, they love to bring people and nature together! Erin will be joined by a member of the Wild birds Unlimited team Vicki Trombley.

Erin and Vicki of Wild Birds Unlimited will be generously donating their bird walk fee to WILDNorth – Northern Alberta Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation.
