Tyler Rock

Tyler Rock (Black Diamond, AB) has demonstrated continuous growth as both an artist and consummate craftsman. In 1995, when he began teaching glass at the Alberta College of Art + Design he was both the youngest faculty and employee of the college. Since then, Tyler has worked collaboratively with artists in a variety of studios and schools in Canada, the United States and Europe. In 2002, Tyler and his wife glass artist Julia Reimer collaborated as “Artists in Residence” at the Studio at the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York. In addition to maintaining his studio practice, Tyler acted as head of the glass program at the Alberta College of Art + Design and is a former president of the Glass Art Association of Canada.
Tyler’s work has received recognition from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, the Alberta College of Art + Design and the Canada Council for the Arts. He has exhibited work extensively in galleries both in Canada and the United States.Tyler’s work can be found in many private, corporate and public collections in Canada including the private collection of the Premier of Alberta and the offices of the Prime Minister in Ottawa.
Tyler is currently in the city of Adelaide, Australia where he is completing his Masters in Visual Art at the University of South Australia.
