Karen Cantine

Karen Cantine (Edmonton, AB) is an internationally recognized metal artist. She was born in Massachusetts and studied at the University of Iowa before moving to Alberta. Her finely crafted and superbly designed work features silver jewellery, boxes, chalices and tea sets.
Her work has been collected by individuals across the continent and by major institutions including the Canadian Museum of Civilization, University of Iowa and the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. In 2005 Karen was inducted into Edmonton’s Cultural Hall of Fame and in 2007 she was commissioned to create a vessel brooch by the City of Edmonton as a gift for Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaelle Jean, Governor General of Canada. In 2014 she was inducted into the Royal Academy of Arts.
