Rug hooking is a traditional craft, where rugs, wall hangings and mats are made by pulling loops of yarn or fabric through a stiff woven linen base. The loops are pulled though the backing material by using a crochet-type hook. Join us for a lovely afternoon of connecting and creating. You will learn how to make a beautiful bird through continuously looping colourful pieces of fabric. These simple techniques and the tools used in traditional rug hooking haven’t changed much in over a century, but this quintessentially Canadian craft a continues to thrive today.
All materials and supplies are provided. You will take these home with you.
