Has the pandemic left you with the need for some comic relief? Join us for a fun needle felting workshop and create you own piece of Kitsch.
Tour & Workshop - get inspiration for your needle felted creation from a tour of Kitsch: Craft So Bad That It’s Good exhibition at Alberta Craft Gallery in Calgary. Then head upstairs to a workshop that will allow you to express you inner Kitsch.
Needle felting begins with rolling a small amount of wool and poking it with a needle. Continued poking and turning results in a firm shape. Once you have a basic shape, you start adding wool to make a sculpture or your own personal piece of kitsch!
Through the ancient traditional practice of needle felting, Jill Nuckles creates an intersection between humanity and the natural world. Inspired by Victorian cabinets of curiosity born of an era of exploration and discovery, she felts a glimpse into another world, time and space.
All materials included (so you can continue your project at home).
No experience necessary.
