Drawn, a Discovery Gallery exhibition of handweaving by Mackenzie Kelly-Frère, an artist, educator and academic living in Mohkinstsis (Calgary). The exhibition examines cloth as a contextual object, enmeshing ways of thinking and being in the natural world. Kelly-Frère draws on his lived experience of both the Canadian Prairie and a recent artist residency in Blondüós, Iceland to create cloth that reflects situated materialities and our connections to place.

The artist acknowledges the support of The Alberta Foundation for the Arts and the Alberta University of the Arts for their financial support for the production of Shelter/In plain sight.
