2016 marks the 10th presentation of the Alberta Craft Awards. This year's celebration will be held in conjunction with the evening symposium of the Canadian Crafts Federation annual conference; Cultivating Craft: Pathways to Practice at the Alberta College of Art + Design.

The Alberta Craft Awards will be presented alongside the CCF/FCMA's National Robert Jekyll Award for Leadership in Craft. It follows ACAD's Visiting Premier Speaker, Shannon Stratton, an ACAD Alumni and William and Mildred Lasdon Chief Curator of the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City. The evening events also include a buffet dinner, performance and exhibition by Katrin Steiger, ACAD's 2016 "Craft at the Cutting Edge" Artist-in-Residence, an exhibition by ACAD's Craft Faculty and Alumni, and the ACC exhibition "Carrying On", an exhibition of bags, pouches and other cultural containers by Albertan indigenous artists.
