YEG Public Art Tattoo Flash
The Edmonton Arts Council collaborated with Edmonton tattoo artist Brent Smith to develop a series of temporary tattoos featuring pieces from Edmonton's Civic Art Collection. These little temporary tattoos will be handed out at various festivals around Edmonton this summer! Collect them all!
Two pieces incorporated into the tattoos are by ACC members! Keith Walker's Clusters from the Central Lions Senior Recreation Center, and Dawn Detarando and Bryan McArthur's two storey tall legs Immense Mode.
From Brent's website:
Clusters by Keith Walker. Multi-colored hand blown glass that hangs from the ceiling of the Central Lions Senior Recreation Center. Incorporating another staple in tattooing, animals, I used Alberta’s own Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep.
Immense Mode by Dawn Detarando and Bryan McArthur. Two storey tall legs made from hand-made bricks. Because of the distinct shape of this piece, I went with an art nouveau influence. Not only to frame the piece, but to accentuate the size of the original work.
