My
relationship with the tools I use for working hot glass is
a special one. Not only are my hand tools indispensable to
me as a glass artist, but I value them far beyond their cost.
They have been essential in creating my glass art and as I
have used and cared for them over the years a strong bond
has formed.
By
recreating them in glass I wanted to show that they are just
as valued as the work created by them.
The
long Jack tool is used for creasing, shaping and opening various
forms.
The
tweezers have shorter blades and are used for pulling the
lips of vessels and sculpting.
The
squared off diamond shears are sued for cutting, shaping and
pulling the glass to create various images.
The
straight sheers are used for cutting, trimming and sculpting
molten glass.
The
newspaper piece is used for shaping hot glass and is as close
as a glass artist can get to actually touching molten glass.
Set
of five glass tools mounted in a shadow box: $2500
