Jeffrey Wilkins, Calgary

In his home based studio, Jeffrey explores his unique skills as jeweler, sculptor and photographer. Jeffrey studied sculpture, ceramics and art history at the University of Regina before transferring to the Alberta College of Art and Design to study jewelry and metal smithing. While studying at ACAD, Jeffrey was instrumental in establishing a yearly fundraising exhibition entitled "Metalmorphasis", which continues to be one of the highlights of the jewelry program. Jeffrey has participated in numerous exhibits including "Flash of Brilliance" for the North American Gem Inc. exhibition of Ammolite jewelry, "Untitled", the Silversmiths of Alberta invitational exhibition and "Format To Facet: Body Ornament West" organized for the 2004 Art City festival. Jeffrey is an exhibiting member of the Calyx Distinctive Arts Society and was instrumental in the creation of Metalphoric Association of Metal Artists. In 2002 Jeffrey was awarded with a commission upon being chosen as the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science 2002 Conference Artist. Jeffrey will be collaborating with Thelia Foster to create a coat inspired by The Queen of Sheba. Jeffrey Wilkins and Thelia Foster also created the neckpiece for the Group Coat.
