Lenora Elkin, Edmonton

Lenora graduated in fashion design from LaSalle College in the early 80's and has since worked in the Canadian garment industry. She has worked in production and design for a Montreal based ski/sportswear company and was also a designer for the Luv 'Em group, which introduced her designs to retailers such as Le Chateau, Thyme Maternity, and Shirley K Maternity. In addition, she has created a company that sold men's wear patterns internationally. Lenora also enjoys custom design and has created over 57 one of a kind wedding dresses. She was an instructor for Marvel College and continues to be a consultant there. Currently she is focusing her energy on the more creative garment design, creating an avant-garde collection of women's wear that focuses on embellishment and surface techniques and is enrolled in the Fine Arts Program at Grant MacEwan College. Her coat will draw upon the Russian opera Boris Godunov for inspiration.
