Linda Wallace

Conundrum

Woven Tapestry: Wool, Silk, Rayon, Cotton
47", 120cm

Linda Wallace's large and complex tapestry started as a "stream of thought" drawing on the topic of reproductive technology. The central mutated female form is interacting with various pieces of plants and animals. These are surrounded by patterns derived from human tissue, blood vessels and DNA strings. The words "Bewail" and "Beware" speak of Linda's concern about the difficult relationships between science and natural procreation.
