Myrna Harris - Landis, Saskatchewan

Canola Field
Hand made and dyed felt

Myrna has been fascinated with various craft forms. She has had a successful career in both clay and fibre fields, and is recognized internationally for her work with felt.

Evolving from a love of painting, using her own hand dyed wool, Myrna has developed a unique interpretation of prairie landscape. Every picture is 'one of a kind.'

Her exhibition history consists of pottery and woven pieces in the annual juried provincial craft showcase "Dimensions;" a two person show in Saskatoon in 1993; and an invitation to exhibit in "Felt Exotic;" and international exhibition of felt in the West Kootenay Exhibition centre.

She won the award for Excellence in Fibre and a Saskatchewan Craft Council Merit award in "Dimensions '94;" and won the Premier's Prize in "Dimensions '95." She has continued to show in Dimensions '96, '97, and '98 and won other awards.

Her work has most recently been on a cross Canada tour with another felt artist. She is well known in the felting community in Europe as she has participated in two International Felt Symposiums in England during the '90's.
